Interests & Hobbies

Clay has been an avid collector of wine and involved in wine and food societies for many years and has an extensive collection of wine. In addition, Clay and his wife Brenda had long dreamed of producing their own wine and in 2005, they purchased an estate vineyard in Calistoga, California, and have begun producing wine under the label Coquerel Family Wine Estates. They produce a number of different wines, including two dry Sauvignon Blanc wines, a late-harvest dessert Sauvignon Blanc, an un-oaked Chardonnay, a Verdelho which is a Portuguese varietal, a petite sirah, a tempranillo, a cabernet sauvignon and a pinot noir.

He has two children, Charles and Lillian, and he and his wife have been married for over thirty-five years. In addition to wine and food, Clay and Brenda enjoy traveling, golf and winter sports. They have traveled extensively to wine regions across the globe including France, Argentina, Italy, New Zealand and Spain.
